In this guide, I will explain how to get, and install Frogger (1997) on modern Windows 10 machines.
Before we head to the install guide, lets cover how to obtain the game in the first place.
There's a few ways to get Frogger, if you dont have it in some form.
The first way is from Online Shopping sites, such as Amazon, or eBay.
The other option is to get the game from The Internet Archive
1. Install the actual game. The installer works fine on modern version's of Windows, so there should be no issues here. Do make sure you run the installer as admin, however.
2. Download and install dgVoodoo 2. This will allow for the game to be more compatible with modern hardware, and allow for things like Anti Ailaising, Enabling/Disabling of texture filtering, resolution increase, etc.
NOTE: If the game works fine as is on your machine, then this step is not needed.
Get the latest version of dgVoodoo 2 from this website: dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/
At the time of writing this, v2.79.3 is the latest version of dgVoodoo 2, so grab that version.
Download and unzip it.
Move dgVoodooCpl.exe to wherever you installed Frogger to (usually C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\Frogger).
How to do that
Go into the 3Dfx folder, and then into the x86 folder. There should be 3 dll files. Move these into your Frogger install directory.
How to do that
Then go back into the main dgVoodoo 2 folder, go into the MS folder, and then the x86 folder. Move all of the dll files in this folder to your Frogger install directory.
How to do that
After you have moved all of these files, go back to your Frogger directory, and run dgVoodooCpl.exe as admin.
At the top half of the program, there should be a buttom that says ".\". Click this button. Doing so will make the program saves its config file into the Frogger directory.
How to do that
After this, go to the Glide section of the program. Where it says 3Dfx card, choose Voodoo 2.
Where it says onboard ram, choose 12mb.
Set Memory Size / TMU to 4096 kB, and number of TMUs to 2. Leave force bilinear filtering unchecked, and disable mipmapping unchecked.
Resolution can be left to unforced, and Anti Ailaising can be left to App Driven.
Under Miscellaneous, leave Enable Glide Gamma Ramp as checked, and Force vSync checked. The rest can remain unchecked
How it should all look
Now go to the DirectX tab. Set the Videocard to the dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card, and set VRAM to 256 MB
For texturing, leave Filtering to App Driven, and leave No mipmapping unchecked.
Resolution can be left as Unforced.
Leave everything as is under Behavior, and leave Anti Ailaising as App Driven.
Under Miscellaneous, check Force vSync, but uncheck everything else.
How it should all look
Once you are done with all of that, click Apply, and then OK.
3. Apply compatibility settings to Frogger. This will make the chances of the game working properly more likely, so its recommended you set these.
Go to your Frogger directory, and right click frogger.exe, frognuke.exe, and VIDSETUP.exe (you will get this file into your Frogger directory after following step 4. Go to properties for each of these, and go to the tab called Compatibility.
Under here, set the game to run under Windows 98 Compatibility, and to run as admin.
Once you do that, click apply, and ok.
Visual Reference for what you need to do
4. Copy the Video Setup from your CD to your Frogger Install path. This will make sure you can configure the game to use dgVoodoo 2, as the one the game copies to the hard drive by default cant see the wrapper, as it's in the Windows directory, not the Frogger directory.
Heres how to do that
5. Run VIDSETUP.EXE. This will allow for you to set your video options, to make sure the game is using the dgVoodoo 2 wrapper.
Find the exe you copied to your Frogger install directory, and run it.
Once there, set the Graphics card to use the 3Dfx option (or the regular 3D card option, if not using dgVoodoo 2), and then click OK.
That's it! You have completed a basic install of Frogger!

To mount the disc image, use the .cue file. Software to do this can be found with PowerISO, or WinCDEmu.
Now with that out of the way, here is how you actually install and setup the game:
